Things to do in Hong Kong

First, visit Victoria Harbour for a magnificent view of the island. Next, travel to Kowloon and visit the Ladies Market. Here you can find all manner of items, from clothes and electronics to goldfish and birds. Travel to the Lamma Island and go on a forest hike or eat some fresh seafood. Take some time to travel to the Po Lin Monastery and see the giant Tian Tan Buddha statue. Finally, get lost among one of the night markets in the city. Temple Street is especially well known, and the food stalls are worth visiting by themselves.  

Getting around Hong Kong

While in Hong Kong, make sure to purchase an Octopus Card. This prepaid debit card is accepted by almost all forms of public transportation, as well as some convenience stores and fast food restaurants. The Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway provide coverage around the city and the adjacent islands. There are also iconic double decker trams and buses that provide a great way to view the city.

Food in Hong Kong

Hong Kong carries the tradition of Cantonese cuisine. Dim Sum is especially popular and is made up of small bite sized dishes. One of the most popular local dishes is wonton noodles, usually made from either shrimp or pork. Also, as a seaside city, expect many fresh and delightful seafood dishes to be on the menu.
