Discover Osaka’s history at Osaka Castle. This reconstructed castle is set amongst the towering skyscrapers of the business district. After a picnic in Osaka Castle Park, you can continue learning about the city’s past at the nearby Osaka Museum of History. Then walk across the beautiful Sorihashi Bridge and visit the Sumiyoshi Shrine, one of Japan’s oldest Shinto shrines. Known for its unique architecture, this shrine dates back to the 3rd century. Afterwards, step back in time to the Edo Period when you discover the Open-Air Museum of Old Farmhouses at Ryokuchi Park. If you visit when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, stroll along the cherry blossom tunnel road at the Japan Mint.
